The Twin Cities Section of SAE will receive a presentation on Harley's V-Rod Motorcycle. Presentation plans include a cut-away view of the new H-D engine design.

About the V-Rod:

Powered by a revolutionary 1130cc engine developing 115Hp this water cooled Harley has been called a "new branch on the tree." Developed over a seven year period the V-ROD made huge strides over new ground for Harley-Davidson. We will take a detailed look at the vehicle and its development. The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Laboratory is accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). A brief definition of EMC as it relates to automotive testing will be provided, plus a look into the Product Development Center - Harley’s 210,000 square foot R&D facility located in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Mark DeBattista had 12 years involvement with Louis Allis Drives Division in the design and testing of military 3-phase power sources for Navy surface ships, followed by 3 years with Rockwell, Allen-Bradley Division, again on 3-phase electric motor drives. Since 1996 he has worked for Harley-Davidson in the development of new platforms within the motorcycle industry. Mark’s specialty is automotive EMC test and design of vehicles, with a focus on motorcycle specifications. He is a NARTE Certified Specialist, and has A.A.S. Industrial Electronics, and A.A.S. Computer Design degrees. He will be sharing from his experience at H-D.

NOTE: There may be a group limit for this event. Make sure you make early reservations for this V-Rod presentation.
