Biography
Before his retirement Dr. Gardon was Vice President, R&D of Akzo Nobel Coatings (the world largest paint
company) and, earlier of the Sherwin Williams Co. He was Chairman and is now Fellow of the Polymeric materials, Science and Engineering Division of the
American Chemical Society. He chaired a Gordon Research Conference on Adhesion, held senior positions in various scientific and business associations,
obtained several national scientific awards, and authored 51 refereed papers, four textbooks and sixteen U.S. patents. He obtained his Ph.D. summa cum laude
in chemistry from the McGill University, and is a chemical engineering graduate of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. Dr. Gardon currently resides
in Michigan.
