ROBOTICS: The past, present, and the future.
Biographic information for:

Dave Hoska of D & D Engineering, Inc.
David is a Certified Manufacturing Engineer, focusing on the disciplines of Lean Design, Robotics, and Special Machine Design. Mr. Hoska has over 30 years experience in the design and development of automated systems, special machines, and tooling. He consults in the areas of flexible and dedicated automation design, total automated-factory systems planning, product design for lean manufacturing and automated and fixtureless assembly, and robotic end-of-arm tooling design.
David helps organizations through:
  • Design of products for producibility.
    Resign of products to increase the efficiency of manufacture; design and redesign of products to facilitate automated assembly.
  • Conceptualization of automated processes.
    Layout of automated processes to meet current and future automation requirements and goals; ensuring effective and efficient throughput of product parts.
  • Teaching factory automation and effective product design.
    Presenting concepts, principles, and case studies of factory automation and product design topics.
  • Design and implementation of dedicated and flexible (robotic) cells.
    Layout of robotic workcells; design of interface tooling and equipment; robot selection; installation of robotic systems.
  • Design of automated equipment.
    Range of services related to the design of automated equipment and systems: project management, design, installation, debugging, and maintenance protocols.
  • Redesign/retrofit of existing equipment to apply new technologies.
  • Fabrication of prototype machines.
    Design and fabrication of special machines and tooling to meet specific production requirements.
